The government provided additional funding for schools to support children in catching up on the missed education over the National Lockdown. Details of the money allocated to Brackenbury in September 2020 and it’s planned expenditure can be found in our Primary Catch Up Strategy ReportPrimary Catch Up Strategy report.

The 2020/21 Catch Up Grant was evaluated to see the impact of this at the end of the 2020/21 academic year. This can be viewed below.Primary Catch Up Strategy Evaluation

2021/22 Academic Year

A further grant has been allocated to school to support the continued Catch-Up work that is needed after further disruption in 2020/21. The DfE have funded £529 per pupil for 60% of the number of pupil premium children on roll in Years 1-6 at Brackenbury in October 2020. This is to fund 75% of the cost of tuition with the school needing to contributing the additional 25%. In our school this means that 81 of our 135 PP children in Y1-6 will attract the funding giving a total of £42,849.

As stated the above £42,849 needs to be supplemented by an additional 25% from the school budget giving a total of £56,499.

Details of our planned expenditure can be found in our Pupil Premium and Recovery Grant Report Pupil Premium and Recovery Grant Report
